We want to see more neighbourhoods in Reykjavik become 15‑minute neighbourhoods, i.e. where main shops and services are within a short walking distance from home.
We want to build up shopping precincts within each neighbourhood and offer start‑up grants to those intending to open businesses in empty spaces, in order to support private enterprise in Reykjavik and pave the way for those keen to move forward.
We want to help more people to telework and bring about more jobs in the eastern part of the city, in order to level out the planning deficit in Reykjavik and achieve a better balance of traffic flows.
We want to protect green areas within the city and further promote them as outdoor recreation areas. Reykjavik’s neighbourhoods must be child‑friendly and safe and contribute to better public health.
