Climate change
Reykjavik needs to lead Iceland’s municipalities as regards climate change issues. We want to ensure easy access to clean energy, green areas and a clean environment.
We want to speed up energy transition in transport and support environmentally friendly modes of transport. We intend to work together with the market to greatly improve access to charging stations.
We want to pursue carbon sequestration, with solutions such as Carbfix, wetland restoration, and forestation. We also want to see lower levies for environmentally friendly construction.
Reykjavik needs high‑quality basic services, not least when it comes to daily life. We intend to ensure effective snow removal, street cleaning, rubbish collection and recycling throughout the city.
