The Independence Party wants to create positive incentives for progress and value creation in Reykjavik. We need to ensure that public systems encourage – rather than inhibit – entrepreneurship and initiative in the city.
We want Reykjavik to be a sought‑after option for business and innovation. We intend to increase the supply of commercial land in the city and reduce tax on commercial real estate.
We intend to further support innovation and ingenuity‑driven business. We want to see Reykjavik attracting domestic and foreign experts, and we plan to set up an innovation village on Örfirisey.
We want to help people get back onto the labour market and help them to help themselves. We intend to offer 12‑month recruitment grants to those receiving financial support from public authorities.
